Ceiling Track Hoist

A ceiling track hoist is a fixed lifting system designed to provide safe, comfortable and dignified transfers for individuals who are unable to stand or bear weight independently. Mounted to tracks installed on the ceiling, the hoist allows smooth movement between key areas of the home, such as the bedroom, bathroom and living areas, while eliminating the need for a mobile hoist to be manoeuvred around the property.

Ceiling track hoists are particularly beneficial for people with advanced neurological conditions, spinal cord injuries, progressive illnesses or complex physical disabilities who require regular assisted transfers. The system reduces the physical demands of manual handling, helping to minimise the risk of injury to both the individual and their carers while promoting comfort and dignity.

Following an independent Occupational Therapy assessment, Adapt OT can determine whether a ceiling track hoist is the most appropriate solution, considering the individual’s mobility, transfer needs, property layout and long-term care requirements.
