Swivel Bather

A swivel bather is a bathing aid designed to make getting into and out of the bath safer and easier for individuals with reduced mobility. The seat securely fits across the bath and rotates, allowing the user to sit down outside the bath before gently swivelling their legs over the bath edge into position. This reduces the need to step over the side of the bath, helping to minimise the risk of slips and falls.

Swivel bathers are suitable for people with arthritis, reduced balance, neurological conditions or limited mobility who are able to transfer independently or with minimal assistance. They provide a practical alternative to a full bathroom adaptation where appropriate, enabling individuals to continue bathing safely in their existing bathroom.

Following an independent Occupational Therapy assessment, Adapt OT can determine whether a swivel bather is the most appropriate bathing solution, taking into account the individual’s mobility, transfer ability, balance and bathroom layout.
